I'm quite shocked that it's been a year since I updated this blog! I have all sorts of plans for blog posts which are still lurking in my head.

My last blog post was about booking direct and over the last year the big booking sites seem to have been alienating both owners and guests by their policies of restricting contact between owner and guest and trying to control every aspect of the process.

So where does that leave owners like us?  By choice we are no longer on AirBnB nor Owners Direct and are making an effort to support the independent and niche sites such as  ukdogfriendlycottages

Another big change is that we are no longer listed with Sykes (and despite what the Sykes website implies we are obviously available for booking,  just not via them!)

So my 2017 resolution is to blog more often. I'd like to add some pages giving details of family friendly and dog friendly places to visit and of course a list of places to eat and drink. Recommendations from our guests are especially welcome!
